A Walk on the Beach Shawl ~ knitting pattern by Lavender Hill Knits

**PDF Knitting Pattern***

If you like my A Walk on the Beach Cowl, you'll love making this shawl version!
This design is the shawl version of my scarf/cowl pattern with the same name.  The inspiration for the pattern came  from the wonderful memories I have of living near the ocean when my two boys were young and our long walks on the beach.  The two cables and wave pattern remind me of two sets of footprints meandering in the sand along the edge of the water. You may have some wonderful memories of walking along a beach on a trip to Florida, or a honeymoon in Bermuda or just a stroll on a beautiful lake with someone special.  Make your shawl in a color that will remind you of that time.

Skill level:
advanced beginner/intermediate - requires basic knowledge of knitting with decreases

This shawl can be made using DK weight yarn (deep teal colored shawl in photos) or sport weight yarn (sand colored shawl in photos), instructions are the same for both weights.  Make it using wool yarn for winter or cotton yarn for spring/summer!  The stitch pattern is very easy, there are no complicated charts to follow.
