Winter Lace Cowl by Lavender Hill Knits
Great pattern for gift giving. Knits up super fast in one evening with only 100 yards of bulky yarn. This cowl also looks great knit in super bulky yarn such as Lion Brand Thick and Quick, it uses less than one skein.
This simple pattern creates a nice lacy effect making it light and comfortable with nice drape, allowing body heat to be trapped in the openings keeping you warm, but not hot. It is my go to fall/winter accessory. It really dresses up a plain t-shirt and jeans, and looks beautiful with a sweater dress.
Knit this cowl in the round with 100 yards of bulky yarn and size 11 and 15 circular needles or 87 yards of super bulky weight yarn and size 13 and 15 circular needles. You can also knit the button style on size 11 straight needles using the same amount of yarn. Easy enough for a beginner to knit! Great pattern for that urge to splurge on a special skein of yarn, or use what you have in your stash. Every knitter has at least 100 yards of bulky yarn in their stash, don't they?
