Chausettes de Lavande (Lavender Socks) are lightweight slipper socks perfect for wearing during spring and summer months or in warmer climates.  A pretty lavender bud stitch is used up the heel, along the sides and down the toe.  Adding the optional crocheted picot edging is a pretty detail (directions for a knitted picot edging is also given for non-crocheters;)  These pretty socks  knit up quickly and make a very special gift!

Stitches used:  knit, purl, yarn-overs, cast on, bind off, picking up stitches.

Materials needed:
Size US 2 (2.75mm) double point knitting needles
Size C (2.75mm) crochet hook for optional picot edging around top)
150 yards of sock/fingering weight yarn

Finished measurements:

Gauge:
Using size US 2 needles and sock yarn, in stockinette stitch:  6 ½ sts, 10 ½ rows per inch.
Adjust your needle size as necessary to get the specified gauge.
